The goal of IT standardization is the creation of common standards and parameters. Today examples of standardization can be found in many data centers. The servers changed to the same microprocessor technology (= Unification) to save costs and facilitate the configuration and management of the machines (through automation).
One of the most common results of not standardizing such systems, is the lack of interoperability of proprietary systems with other devices. In addition to the significantly improved compatibility of the standardized servers, there are other advantages:
- Since the trend tilts more and more towards using "standard servers" (pre-engineered systems) in the data center, the purchase of such a server is now cheaper compared to other models
- Standardization enables a higher level of automation (especially of routine tasks), which leads to less complex maintenance and configuration
The ATIX and their consultants are leading when it comes to standardization in the data center. We are happy to provide our accumulated know-how and experience to your standardization projects.
